I love the personal way you review books, Marg—it always makes me want to read them, and this new one from Maggie O’Farrell is no exception.
The “smiling” banana slices in your sandwich made me smile too. I’ve been getting back into baking sourdough bread after bringing home a packet of starter from Alaska. I’m definitely going to try the peanut butter-honey-banana combo with my next loaf!
Excited for the upcoming book club on Zoom. Digging into the book now!
P.S.: Thanks for letting us know how to pronounce Marg! I was never quite sure—a bit strange considering we’ve been Substack pals for so long!😘
Hello my friend and thanks (as always) for taking the time to comment. I hope your sourdough is a success for you. I started making a crunchy loaf in the Covid times and although it used yeast, it was a close approximation. Nowadays my husband is the bread-maker and he does a pretty good job of it.
Can't wait to see you at book club, it's been ages since we chatted.
I am not a big breakfast person, but I do like fig butter on a croissant or muffin. Thank you for your book review and happy bananas.
Fig butter sounds absolutely delicious. I think I have a recipe for that somewhere, will have a look. X
