Marg, so sorry about your back. Hopefully all the extra reading and sunny smoothies help!

Looks like Demon Copperhead is in the lead. The other two choices are quite interesting. Be careful.

Thanks for your good wishes Sally. Yes, Demon is winning so far. I have been putting off reading it for reasons I can’t articulate (laziness probably 😀) so this will give me a push.

Oh, me to. I've been wanting to read it since it was published. I better get a head start.

Be well!

It’s funny all the things we used to do without coming to harm. I can’t tell you how much raw cookie dough I consumed before I was told it might be harmful--and I still sneak a spoonful or two, especially chocolate chip! I’ll definitely give the Benjamin Dreyer interview a listen and let you know what I think. It sounds right up my alley.

I’m sorry to hear you hurt your back, Marg! Hoping you’re mending well. Having more time to read sounds like a nice side benefit though. The 2 books you read both sound like winners.

I’ve never made a flip, though I’ve heard of them, I’ve always been warned off raw eggs because of the risk of salmonella. It’s quite low, but apparently it can happen from unpasteurized eggs. Here’s a link: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/can-you-eat-raw-eggs/amp/

I’m a bit of a punctuation and style nerd because of having worked as a copy editor at one time, but I’m ashamed to say I had to look up an Oxford comma. I’m totally inconsistent with them and would like to read more about this issue--though some will say it’s like counting angels on the head of a pin--I.e., useless.

Thanks for your good wishes. I’m on the mend but off to see the chiropractor today.

I thought the issue with raw eggs was probably salmonella (thanks for the link) but people used to eat them a lot in the olden days, especially body builders and people with hangovers!

I think you will love the interview with Benjamin Dreyer. He gives some hilarious examples of what misunderstandings can occur if you fail to use it appropriately. I’m a big fan but probably don’t use them consistently. There’s also a hilarious anecdote about ending a sentence with a preposition which made me laugh.
