A space for book club members
If you read Book Chat regularly you will know I have started a book club for subscribers. It’s free and you don’t need to register or sign up for anything. You can dip in and out if the book choices don’t suit you or you have too much on your plate, but I love talking about books and hope you can participate.
We’ll be meeting four times a year and the first book we are reading is The Storied Life of AJ Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin. I hope you’ve been able to get your hands on a copy.
I’m very excited about this and can’t wait to talk to you at our virtual book group meeting in March (dates and times are below), but since it’s impossible to find a time that suits everyone, I thought I would open up this conversation space for people who want to join in, but can’t make the live event.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens.
One thing I would ask is that you hold on to your opinions about the book until the date of the live event, but in the meantime, please feel free to use this chat function to introduce yourself, ask questions, or talk about other books you are reading. I’m hoping this will be a community space where we can chat amongst ourselves!

Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.

Lovely to hear from you Ruth! Thanks for checking on the time. According to my time zone converter the corresponding time is 3pm on Thursday the 16th of March. Your daylight saving starts on March 12 which is why it’s an hour later than it would be today. I hope that makes sense and I hope that’s right 😊
