A great update and sharing of your younger days of family. What a pretty picture you girls were and no doubt are when together laughing it up. Safe travels!

I’m very happy to say I still get on really well with both my sisters (and my brother too) and we always have a great laugh when we are together. My brother is a comedian/ actor/ singer and is always entertaining!

I liked Anya Seton, too! As a preteen I read "The Winthrop Woman," and it made me feel very grown up. To this day, when I come across the names of the real historical figures Seton wove into this novel about the founding of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, my brain responds as if I knew them personally!

I know exactly what you mean. I wonder what it would be like to re-read them today?

Beautiful dahlias - I love them so much. If you search for frogs napping inside dahlias, you're in for a treat. Unless you don't like frogs :) https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1306113713458816

This salad looks amazing, is it as simple as it looks. I'm going to try that dressing too! Thanks for sharing.

Those frogs are very cute!

Yes the salad is super simple. I make a different one most days with whatever is in the fridge. I started taking pictures of my lunch during lockdown as a way of encouraging people to make themselves something yummy.

Just catching up on your posts, Marg, and love the continuing story of your reading and family life. You three girls are so very cute in your matching frocks!

I discovered Anya Seton’s Katherine at my grandma’s house and read it several times. The historic romance was captivating and I too imagined myself as the heroine. Pretty much all I knew about Henry VIII and the horrors of the bubonic plague I learned from that book, but I haven’t read Seton’s other books and undoubtedly would enjoy them too.

Your salad looks yummy—I love a mix of fruits and veggies with a dressing that’s sweet and sour. Congrats on the dahlias—and belated Happy Birthday!
