I just read (and LOVED) The Rachel Incident - I already want to re-read. Also try to write reviews from the experience perspective and I enjoy reading that from others too.
Did you notice that The Rachael Incident is mentioned on DALS this week? Worldwide acclaim? I didn't like Normal People (I did like the TV series) but I'll give this one a go after I finish ploughing through Demon Copperhead which I'm loving BTW.
Ha ha, I'm so trendy. I haven't actually read Normal People (I just couldn't get into it), but I loved the TV show (which is unlike me because, as you know, there's a LOT of sex).
I have nearly finished Demon Copperhead and enjoying it (?) a lot. I have never read David Copperfield, so I'm hoping it has a happy ending as it's a bit bleak.
I don’t need to go on a trip to listen to audiobooks--they’re my daily companion. I recently finished listening to an excellent recording of Demon Copperhead, with the narrator’s accent lending added credibility to the first-person narrative.
Your excellent pictures of Spain bring back fond memories, especially of Córdoba, which I loved. The pizza In Sevilla looks amazing! You do seem very happy!
My cordless earbuds have just died and it grieves me because I can’t listen to audiobooks or podcasts while I do boring chores. I’ll need to get some new ones soon (I’m saving up for good ones).
I listened to a bit of Demon and the accent was a little strong for me. I’m sure it would have added to the authenticity if I’d given myself time to get used to it. Having said that, I’m acutely aware that Australians have strong and sometimes unattractive accents by the way!
Yes I had a wonderful trip. It was magic. I frequently had to stop and pinch myself. It was a joy travelling with my daughter who is calm and easy going. We had a ball.
That's a good tip although I tried my husband's out yesterday and thought they were a bit uncomfortable. I really liked my old ones and was sorry they died. They had a necklace and soft tips, so I might just buy the same ones again.
I’m sorry to hear about your earbuds. I hope you’re able to get some reliable ones soon.
I was sort of irritated by the accent at first but I became engaged in the story and got used to it, I guess. I’ll have to listen to an Australian reader one day soon! I think I’ll like it assuming I find a good book!).
How great that you traveled with your daughter--that makes the trip particularly special! It sounds like so much fun.
Yes, right up your alley. Do listen to the book on audio. The narrator has an odd habit of stopping at the end of the line instead of the end of sentences, but it’s worth it. My favourite line was “after we finished [having sex] he reached down and patted me like a horse”.

I’m so glad you loved it. I miss Rachel!

Your trip looked amazing and I’m adding the Rachel Incident to my TBR.

Target regularly puts older model apple ones on sale (signed someone who's using older model airpods.)

There are lots of good Australian books 😀
I loved The Rachael Incident! I might have to “reread” it to hear the narrator in the audiobook!
