Happy New Year, Marg! Love the Christmas picture of you and your family! I haven’t read any of the books on your recommended list, but I will check them out. I’m enjoying Remarkably Bright Creatures and looking forward to discussing it at the book club meeting. I’m also glad to have some more bookish podcasts to sample. My TBR pile seems to ebb and flow based on inspiration from you and others. I’m truly grateful.
Happy New Year (almost) to you and your family, Ruth. I'm very grateful that you take the time to read and comment. Your ongoing support means a lot to me.
Great book recs! I follow many bookish podcasts And have to say I really dislike author interviews. Unless it is someone I really adore I have very little interest.
I suppose it mostly has to do with being a mood reader with specific author taste. I do enjoy hearing from an author about a book I have read or am reading. Gives me insight. But other authors that aren’t specific to my mood or genre I will skip the episodes. I do love book recommendations, reviews , book discussions and interesting tidbits about the book industry. These Would be of more interest
Loved The Rachel Incident! One of my favourites from the year for sure. And I’m really glad I read The Schoolhouse even though I thought at first it may be too literary for me. Also on book related podcasts I have to plug my own, Better Words 🥰 merry Christmas and I hope you’re not hit by too many more bad storms (our family is in SE QLD so we’ve heard about the latest ones)
Yes the weather in Queensland has been terrible, poor things. At least we have power.
And thanks for mentioning your podcast! It’s good to let people know. I sometimes feel uncomfortable promoting my newsletter but then I remember that people actually want reading recommendations.

That’s interesting. Why do you dislike them?

Same! It feels weird sometimes, but we've been doing it so long I also forget it's new to some people.
