Congrats and happy 3rd, Marg! I always enjoy browsing Book Chat for the books and recipes.
I'm currently reading Anne Michael's 'Held' - loving the effect of her being a poet on her novel writing. A special book for me has been 'My tongue is my own: a life of Gwen Harwood" by Ann-Marie Priest. Her amazing life covered most of the 20th century, and it's like she's talking to you through her long letters to her many friends.
Hi Christine! Thanks for your kind words and reading recommendations. They both sound excellent. Another mutual friend also recommended 'Held', so that's a funny coincidence (or maybe not a coincidence at all).
Congrats, Book Chat! I’m super looking forward to reading How to Build a Boat. If I can manage to stay up late enough for the meeting, I will be there! (I’m in Canada and usually in pjs by 9pm ;) )
(PS All My Mothers was one of my book club's favourite reads, and I've recently read another book of hers called The Other Half of Augusta Hope - loved it.)
Congrats on your 3 years and the dessert looks delicious!

Love the whippet picture! Mine also would never sit still in front of cake, lol! That picture must have been Photoshopped! :)
I never thought of that! Easily done these days.
Happy Birthday 🎂. Reading your recommendation, Oh Sister. Liked the title (for obvious reasons) and the surname of the author.
I just finished it last night. Let me know what you think.
