Marg, thank you for a very interesting and fun Book Chat. Since you asked the question, how would you change your reading habits, or do differently, and reading all your great book reviews, I have come up with a plan. I look forward to the next assignment!
Thanks for coming along to Book Club. I really enjoyed our discussion too. I look forward to hearing more about your reading plan! I checked out your website and there’s some lovely writing there, so thanks for sharing.
At first glance, I thought the book on the left had three letter Cs on it - strange perception I know but typical of me (I could do those 3D books popular in the 90s very easily) and I always thought the Batman logo looked like an open mouth with an epiglottis. In any case, I read it in the ebook version so only had one choice and I didn't mind it.
I choose books more often on the basis of recommendations these days, so covers are less important, but I would most likely not be drawn to the book on the right either. The power of religion to affect life choices is an ever-fascinating theme, so that would hold an attraction. Your miso on everything photo also has me hooked—looks yummy!
No, not shallow. Books are aesthetic objects too. My grandmother actually studied the art of bookbinding. I have several of her leather-bound creations, mostly German literary classics as she was German. I hope it’s not a lost art. I do have some treasured children’s books with great cover art. Now I’m going to be looking a little harder when I search for my next physical (not virtual!) book!🤗
I wouldn't have chosen the book on the right, either. It seems to be promising something very different and I much prefer the one on the left. Happy reading and happy (yummy) miso!

I had to scrunch up my eyes to see it, but yes, definitely three C’s. I also agree about the Batman logo. Never looked much like a bat to me either!

Happy Book Club! Catch you in the next go-round.🤗
I must admit to being very influenced by book covers. I especially love beautiful covers with flowers and such. Very shallow of me, I know.
