All good choices for next book; Tom Lake (I am an Ann Patchett fan); The God of the Woods for second choice. Thx so much Marg

It looks like The Heaven and Earth Grocery store won the vote by a narrow margin, but I'm keen to read all of them, so I think we should just schedule all of them for this year and next year.

How often do you think we should meet? Maybe every two months, or is that too often?

I have several bookcases filled with books we’ve collected, inherited, bought, etc. I haven’t read them all, but some I’ve read some several times. I really need to cull them—some really shouldn’t be there, but I’m both lazy and sentimental, a bad combo when it comes to keeping a tidy book collection. 😆

Thanks for teaching me a new Japanese word for being creative with leftovers. The cake looks terrific, and it sounds like you had some cool additions! Do you have a link to the recipe?

I’d be happy with any of those books, but I’m curious to hear what others think of The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store. I’d also like the Ann Patchett novel.

Nice newsletter as always, Marg!

I'm also lazy and sentimental! Oh well!

I included a link to the recipe in the newsletter but it's not very obvious, so thanks for highlighting that. I'll make it clearer.

Thanks, Marg! Don’t know how I missed it. I’ve made other cakes with ricotta and am always pleased with the flavor and texture. So excited to find one with pine nuts, which I just happen to have!

We bought 10kg of tomatoes while we were down south so we're now having tomatoes with everything!

You’re going to have to be very inventive to use that many tomatoes. You might need to make a batch of passata?
