Thanks so much for the recommendation for Night Swimmers. I look forward to reading it and also You Are Here for our little book club (which I thoroughly enjoy--especially the tangents!).
You set a helpful example when you stop reading a book that doesn't capture your interest--as you say, life is too short to read books that don't appeal to you or are too dark for your mood. I'm glad reading books isn't a competitive sport as there are too many things that ought to be fun that get ruined by that attitude.
As for quiche, yours looks really great, Marg! I'm not a great quiche maker, with the last one I made turning out like scrambled eggs in a crust, I'm ashamed to say (not a happy admission to make from someone who claims to be a food blogger!). But maybe I'll give it another try. Looking at yours made me very hungry! Thanks as always for this great mix of books and food!
Thanks Ruth. I have also had many quiche disasters. Sometimes they are too ‘eggy’ or they go hard (cooked too long I imagine) but this one turned out very well. I’m also very bad at making scrambled eggs, if that’s of any comfort to you 😀 but I read a great tip the other day to put Dijon mustard in the mixture to stabilise and soften the eggs. I haven’t tried it yet but I plan to.
I’m so glad you said this. I’m always a little nervous about choosing a book but this one sounds lovely. I didn’t really like One Day as I thought the main character was a cad, but I loved the recent series on Netflix.
Would love to be on the book club list! And that quiche looks delicious 😋
I will add you immediately!

Also, I love book club too. Thanks for being part of it.
I put The Night Swimmers on my list!
Nice! Let me know what you think.
I love a Wild Irish setting!
Me too!
I now have "The Night Swimmers" and "You Are Here" on hold at the library. Thanks for the recomendations, Margaret!
Excellent! I hope you enjoy them.
I loved "You Are Here." David Nicholls is one of my favorite writers.

I didn't know about the Netflix series! I will check that out. I really liked "Us."
