I genuinely love your newsletter. It’s very warm and friendly. Looking forward to meeting you (almost in person) at book club. Will send you an invite!
Hello and thanks for letting me know about your current read and your newsletter! I’ve not heard of Teresa Driscoll so will check it out. What is your favourite thriller ever?
I have lot's of favorites 😍 but the one that I loved so much that got me obsessed with thrillers is "The Wives " by Tarryn Fisher. I "chased the dragon " on that one for a while trying to find a book that I could love as much.
Thanks for your reading suggestions, Marg! I’m looking forward to reading the book club pick and taking part in the discussion if I can.
I just listened to the New York Times podcast on the Times’ 10 top books for 2023. One was Zadie Smith’s latest, The Fraud. In light of our discussion of Demon Copperfield, at the last meeting, I thought it funny that Charles Dickens is a character in Smith’s novel. Can’t get away from that guy! 😜
The salad looked lovely, though, like you, I’m not a huge parsnip fan. I wonder if adding a mix of root vegetables and grains might work.
That’s funny about the Zadie Smith book. I was just reading some reactions to the NYT list on Instagram and many people commented that the book was slow and hard going so I don’t think I’ll be reading it! 😀 The comments came from Zadie Smith fans btw.
Yes I think the salad would be nice with roasted veg and grains. It’s basically just veg and nuts with a pinch of curry powder in the dressing, but you know I love salads that incorporate nuts. I’m nuts for nuts!
Oh!! I’m mentioned in your Substack! ::blush:: I so appreciate the recommendation and support, it means so so much to me!
In OTHER awesome news, I’m wrapping up Remarkably Bright Creatures right now (my library loan came through in time!) and I’d love to book club!

I mainly read Suspense, Thriller and mystery novels and I have recently started a newsletter on this site too.
I am currently reading I am Watching You by Teresa Driscoll. She is an author that I first read less month and really enjoy.

Putting it on the list right now!
